Corona virus: closures extended, except for Ciampino and Florence

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, in agreement with the Ministry of Health, has adopted the provision for the resumption of full operation of Rome Ciampino and Florence Peretola airports starting from 4 May 2020, which are therefore added to those that have remained operational throughout the emergency.
For all other airports, the measures previously envisaged are extended until 17 May 2020.

From May 4, 2020 Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Florence, Genoa, Lamezia Terme, Malpensa, Naples, Pescara, Pisa, Ciampino, Fiumicino, Turin and Venice airports are therefore operative. In Catania, Palermo and Lampedusa only connections for territorial continuity are allowed.

In the other airports, only cargo and postal flights, as well as state flights, government agencies, medical emergencies or other emergencies will be guaranteed, with the exception of:

Linate which also suspends cargo and postal services.
Treviso and Trieste where the total closure was arranged;
Verona-Villafranca where the total closure from 18.00 to 10.00 local has been arranged. From 10.00 to 18.00 local only cargo, postal, government, military, emergencies, maintenance and radio measures are allowed.

In order to operate from open airports, general aviation traffic with at least 2 hours notice must send the necessary documentation to the public security authorities, including the self-declaration of a proven motivation for work, necessity, health or return to own home.
