The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport on Wednesday 29 April 2020 extended the air transport reduction measures until 17 May [read article].

Today, in application of the ministerial measures, the National Civil Aviation Authority has issued the NOTAM A2703/20 and C0657/20 which contain the measures for civil aviation in force from 4 May to 17 May 2020.

In particular, with the exception of the regions of Sicily and Sardinia, in all airports open to general and commercial aviation activities on demand, the following are allowed:

  • within the same region, transfer flights for maintenance and test flights;
  • general or commercial aviation flights for connections between open national airports to be carried out in compliance with the restrictive measures provided for in the Prime Ministerial Decree of 26 April 2020.

Aerial work is allowed on all airports open to general and commercial aviation traffic on domenad and on all airfields/helipads/hydroplane surfaces, even occasional.

At the airports where the minimum services are guaranteed (Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Florence, Genoa, Lamezia Terme, Malpensa, Naples, Pescara, Pisa, Ciampino, Fiumicino, Turin and Venice), general aviation flights are also allowed.

With the exception of scheduled, charter, test and maintenance flights, in order to be able to operate from airports, airfields, helipads and hydrosurfaces in the cases permitted above, it is necessary to send the necessary documentation to the public safety authorities with at least 2 hours notice, including the self-declaration of a proven job motivation, need, health or return to one’s home.

To check the opening of the airports, consult valid NOTAMs.
