From 3 to 6 June 2019 in the Milan and Zagreb FIR will take place the NATO exercise “Astral Knight 2019” daily from 08.00 to 12.00 local time. The exercise will simulate air defense and missile operations with flight operations and computer-assisted scenarios. In the exercise US Air Force F16, F35 and KC135 with Italian F35 and EFA, Croatian MiG-21 and E3 Sentry will operate. The activities will take place in the Adriatic Sea from the ground up to FL450, in R21 from FL175 to FL245 and in the “Alpha1” and “Alpha2” corridors between FL220 and FL280 for traffic in transit from/to R49 and Aviano AFB.
The segments of airways and FRA airspace in the area will be unavailable due to operations; the STAR CHI 1M to Trieste and the SID ROTAR 6X/8V/9D from Venezia-Tessera will be suspended.
