
Tra il 25 e il 30 novembre delle unità navali degli Stati Uniti d’America transiteranno nelle acque internazionali del mar Ionio e del mare Adriatico. Nelle aree indicate di seguito saranno condotte attività di volo da portaerei dal suolo fino a FL245, gli aeromobili militari opereranno con dovuto riguardo per la sicurezza del traffico aereo e marittimo nelle vicinanze della flotta (operazioni “due regard”). Gli enti ATC assicureranno i servizi per il traffico GAT per quanto possibile in coordinamento con le unità militari.
La zona del mar Ionio sarà attiva dal 25 al 26 novembre, mentre sul mar Adriatico a nord-est di Bari e sulle aree Lion e Sonny le operazioni si svolgeranno dal 27 al 30 novembre.
Le operazioni dovrebbero interessare la portaerei USS Harry S Truman (CVN-75) che sabato 17 novembre ha attraversato lo stretto di Gibilterra di ritorno dalla Trident Juncture. Attualmente risulta infatti nel Mediterraneo con il suo gruppo d’attacco, compresi i cacciatorpedinieri missilistici USS Farragut (DDG-99), USS Forrest Sherman (DDG-98) e USS Arleigh Burke (DDG-51) e l’incrociatore USS Normandy (CG-60).
